Steroid-induced rosacea

I went out to the aloe farm where they have a gift shop here in Aruba and purchased a very pure form of Aruba aloe cream. Apply that at night before bed and take a a baby aspirin. Together with that I been drinking green tea after it cools. After three days of that I have been able to clear-up about 60-70% of the infected area. My wife has sun block that is skin-toned so that somewhat hides it. Big negative is I’m here in Aruba and making every effort to stay out of the sun. I am going into Orangestaad (Aruba’s large city) today where they have large pharmacy and going to see if the have Oracea without a prescription. If they do maybe I can purchase 10 pills to get me through till I return next week.

"At first I wanted to throw it through a window, but I read some other reviews and stuck with it. So happy I did- my face is totally clear!! First time in over 20 years sad to say. It was rough going at first. It will cause you to break out worse before it gets better. I don't think I wanted to leave my house for about 3 weeks. But it finally started to clear up at around week 5 and face was clear by week 7. I know, I know it sounds like a long time, but I won't go without it now. A little goes along way, don't over use it cause it's not needed and this stuff is expensive!! Now that my face is clear I use it only a few nights a week and not every night. I have to say STICK WITH IT."

I’ve had this for nearly 20 years and it started with a tiny red spot below one of my eyes which I thought was just some kind of rash which would go away in time. I was told to change the soap I was using as perhaps it was too harsh for my skin – at this early stage I had no idea about how using soap on your face could possibly be a problem. Needless to say the rash did not go away and another dime sized spot appeared below my other eye and then more redness on either side of my nose creating my first visit to a dermatologist and the beginning of many treatments with zero long term solutions.
